  • Error NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID with Aruba domain and GitHub pages

    05.07.25

I’ve recently (last year) moved from a register.it to an Aruba domain as the latter was offering a much cheaper option. Aruba is a bit more complicated to setup as we need to configure the DNS entries ourselves (comparing to register.it where the setup was seamless, or at least so I remember). After initial success following the guide, returning on my website some time later, I’vea been met with the error NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID.

  • KPI: Kebab Price Indicator

    02.09.24

    Introducing the Kebab Price Indicator!

The Kebab Price Indicator (KPI) is a groundbreaking economic measure designed to provide a unique perspective on the overall health of a nation’s economy, particularly its consumer confidence and purchasing power. By tracking the price fluctuations of kebabs, a popular and affordable food item, the KPI offers a more nuanced understanding of economic trends compared to traditional indicators like GDP or inflation rates.

  • Internet issues tracker

    12.03.21

I have several connection issues recently. My connection would drop for several seconds. When reconnecting my upload speed was ridiculus (about 550kbps). Before calling the ISP call center (and the usual crap that goes like: “is the router on?”, “have you tried rebooting?”, “are all the lights on?”, blah, blah, blah), I thought to see how

  • Logstash-cumulative-filter

    12.03.21

During the developing of my master thesis work I found I needed to compute a cumulative sum of some fields. Using Kibana for Business Analytics it is possible to compute the cumulative sum, but with a caveat: it is computed on the selected time span. This is an usual and correct behaviour in reporting tools, but what happened if the value itself has to be computed?

  • Expense tracker: from Excel to PowerBI

    02.01.21

I’ve tried many different apps that offered many reports, features and wathever, but in the last year I tried a new method using an app (Money Lover, but any other will do) to track expenses on the fly and then copy those expenses and transactions into an Excel spreadhseet.
